Children, Cops and Robbers

Children all over the world play this age old game of cops and robbers. For generations they have been absolutely fascinated with this make believe world of cops and robbers. Before the game begins there is always a clamour among the children as to who would be the cops and who would be robbers. I have always found that children who wanted to play robbers outnumbered those who wanted to play cops. Why? Now a cop having seen fifty summers and having played the game almost daily in childhood, I wonder at the mysterious attraction for robbers vis a vis cops.
